Mint Lemonade Sipper
You guys know that I have my lemon water ever day. If it’s not drank in plain old warm water, it’s in my green tea. If I’m too hot, I’ll drink it over ice, or put my lemon into my Lemon Meringue Smoothie.
However, lately I’ve gotten back in touch with a drink I used to make a couple summers ago. How have I forgotten about you?!
After an afternoon of watering the garden, or after a run in the sun…I crave this. You can drink this ALL DAY long. Half this recipe (about 1 quart) is only 10-15 calories, literally any calories are from mint leaves and lemon juice…and that’s not really a thing. The fresh mint and lemon combo does these magical things:
- appetite suppressant
- digestive aid
- calming (helps you feel less stress)
- detoxifying/cleansing
- replenishes body salts – this is important after your body has sweat a lot, like after a workout
- boosts immunity (mint contains calcium, phosphorous, vitamin C, D, and E)
- beautifying (mint has high content of salicylic acid which helps prevent acne)
- PLUS, it’s gives you great breath!
Mint Lemonade Sipper
- 1 lemon, peeled
- 1/2 bunch of fresh mint
- stevia, to taste*
- 1 tray of ice
- water
*I used 2 “donks” of THM pure stevia, but honestly…just use whatever stevia or natural sugar-free sweetener you love
Add all the ingredients and blend. Please note, it doesn’t matter what size of blender you have. I have a Vitamix, so I can make about 2 quarts of this at a time. However, if you have a smaller, less powerful blender you can still make this. Use the same amount of ice, lemon, and mint…but after it’s blended, pour it into a pitcher, and dilute it with more water until your tastebuds are happy.
(jar by Gothic Glitter)It might be a good idea to put a pinch of pure sea salt in as well, to help your body replenish electrolytes. This is especially important if you’ve been in the hot sun or just exercised vigorously.
