Hipster Mason Jar Cozies
I have this thing where I don’t usually drink out of normal glasses. I hate plastic – it is the enemy of all that is good and right.
There are glasses in my cupboard, but I think they’re too small.
Two years ago, when I started college I brought Mason jars everywhere. I was constantly accused of bringing moonshine to class (who knew that water isn’t obviously water! good grief), but I still brought my jars. I brought smoothies in them, teas, or even salads…the mocking still continued.
Then, I started noticing other people bringing jars to class. By year two of my education, the teacher was doing it.
Sometimes I forget the lids and I spill hot lemon and stevia all over me as I drive to church…or my coffee sloshes over me as I round a corner. However, forgetting the lid hasn’t been my biggest problem. It’s just that with hot drinks…they’re too hot. Glass, as glorious as it is, is a great transmitter for heat.
After two years, I found a glorious solution. Socks.
I was just on my way out of the house and realized I could barely hold onto my hot tea. In desperation I just grabbed a sock that was lying around, rolled it up around my jar, and went on my merry way.
The world is a better place…and honestly, I think it is such a cute idea…if you use an adorable sock everyone will be asking where you got it.
All a girl on the go needs, her jar with a cute cozy, her phone, and planner. Done.
Jars vs. glasses…or plastic to-go bottles or glass…go!
