My ABC’s
I didn’t have time to work on a recipe or photos today, so I thought I’d post a survey I’ve seen floating around the blogosphere.
A-Z Survey
A. Age: I’m in the torrid twenties. And they’re not torrid.
B. Bed size: Double, but I could do with it being just a little longer. I’m a tall girl and I hate having my toes hang off the edge, which they do.
C. Chore you dislike: Wall washing! I hate it with a passion.
D. Dogs: We had a black lab named Jade pretty a lot of my growing up, but we had to put her down last year because she was very old and sick. I miss her so much…she was the most gentle, sweet dog I’ve ever seen, so great with kids. I secretly want a little ‘toy’ dog…you know the kind that are the size of a puppy and have absolutely no purpose other than cuteness. Like this one…
E. Essential start to your day: First thing I ever do: Drink a tall glass of water.
F. Favourite color: I could never decide because I love them all…it all depends on my mood. Purple is definitely up there.
G. Gold or silver: Silver or white gold.
H. Height: I’m a tall girl at 5’11”. You’d never believe how hard it is to find jeans that are long enough.
I. Instruments you play(ed): I play guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass guitar, and a little piano. I played flute when I was in school, but I hated it so much, so I dropped it. I named all my instruments something endearing…except the flute. It didn’t deserve a name.
J. Job title: Lead singer and instrumentalist in a band. Blogging. I even do some housecleaning for a few women in the area.
K. Kids: I’m not married, so it would be zero. But I have enough nieces and nephews to make up for it! (Yesterday I got another nephew, so exciting!)
L. Live: In the countryside in a big green and white house. It’s sort of in the middle of nowhere, but it’s so beautiful.
M. Mom’s name: Karen
N. Nicknames: Chris, Chrissy, Rissa, Loopy (don’t ask!), Cuddles (my sister’s pet name for me), Cassie, Dearie without Horns
O. Overnight hospital stays: I had a ski accident in my early teens when the binders of my skis detached themselves. I ended up in the forest, unconscious, with a 4” crack in my skull (which explains some things, lol) and a torn up arm. I only stayed in the hospital one night though, but it was a long one.
P. Pet peeves: Too many condiment bottles in the fridge, mono-brows, melted ice-cream, hard eggs, and cold feet.
Q. Quote from a movie: “I love you.” …Bet you’ll never guess which one that comes from, haha.
R. Righty or lefty: Righty, but I am left when I play hockey. Yup, I’m Canadian through and through.
S. Siblings: 7 sibs and I’m the last one. Well, they say you should save the best for last…haha, just kidding.
T. Time you wake up: It’s a secret. I’ll just say I’m a night owl and leave it at that.
U. Underwear: Whaaaa? TMI
V. Vegetables you don’t like: I actually can’t think of any. Impressive.
W. What makes you run late: Syncing my iPod, changing my outfit for the third time, and spilling my to-go tea mug on the way out (which happens way too often).
X. X-rays you’ve had: Cat scan (for the ski accident), Teeth (to see if I actually have any wisdom teeth) and head
Y. Yummy food you make: I make a mean pancake!
Z. Zoo animal favourites: The lions or monkeys. The monkeys amuse me. The lions are so beautiful and powerful.
There it is…hope you enjoyed getting to know me a bit more. I’d love to get to know you better, so tell me a little about yourself.
What are your strangest quirks? Do you have any crazy nicknames? Is there a pet peeve that drives you nuts?

I’m 5’10 and can totally believe how hard it is to find jeans or dress pants. AH! When I find a pair that fit me I end up buying them in every color and double up on my favorite colors. I loved your ABCs, great to get to know you a bit better :)
Hey! How do you like the Nourishing Traditions book? That’s on my list of books to check out, but I’d love to hear what you think about it before I go get it!
Totally cool survey and it’s always nice to get to know blogger friends :)
You are so lucky you can play all those instruments. In elementary school, i tried learning how to play the violin and it was flippin hard! I gave up :(
I didn’t knew you are a lead singer and instrumentalist in a band, it’s so awesome! :))) You should definitely upload some videos of your band playing!
This is a really cute post! Love your snow-covered green house :) I love skiing, sorry to hear about your horrible accident tho
Your life sounds so much more interesting than mine! Haha Fun post to read, I like it!
You are too cute. Love this post! Your house is sooo pretty. That trip the the hospital sounds like it was awful & nothing you would ever want to remember. 7 sibs – oh my! xo
Oh wow – scary about your skiing accident!!! Great idea with the survey – I might have to steal that idea from ya when i’m low on ideas! : )
Leanne~ Yah, I feel your pain. Life is hard when you’re tall, haha.
Erica~ You’re not the first to ask. Maybe I’ll do a review on it sometime soon!
Cakewhiz~ I don’t know about lucky, haha. Just had to learn them out of necessity, but hey…you can still take up the violin! It’s never too late!
Nadia~ You’re so sweet…I think at this point I’m going to keep my musician life separate from my blog, but thanks so much for being interested!
Min~ Yes, I love my house too…my Dad and brothers built it themselves.
Maria~ haha, I doubt it. Everyone has something interesting about their lives!
Marla~ Thanks for visiting! It’s so fun having that many siblings, though most of them have left home now.
Tricia~ I’d love to read your survey sometime!
What a clever way to do a survey and a fun way to get to know you. I have to ask you, why are you washing walls? Is this something I’m missing? I don’t think I’ve ever washed a wall!
Oh my Chrissy, you are living in my dream house! It’s so beautiful and peaceful no wonder you look like such a happy person!
Sylvie~ Haha, I help a few older women clean their houses and this is a request of theirs…have to admit, I don’t wash my own walls. ;)
Eugene~ Thank you so much…it is a peaceful place! And I have to say, I am very happy person…God is so good. :)
