Smoothie Love
I can’t tell you how much fun this smoothie challenge has been! Whenever you send in your entries I get a smile on my face.
I have to say though; the entries that have produced the most grins are from my friend ShannonMarie from Rawdorable.
Seriously, can you handle the adorability?! Thanks ShannonMarie for the overload of cuteness.
All the other entries have also been SO inspiring – they’re often sent in with a drool-worthy description of how delicious it was. It just keeps me inspired to keep me drinking smoothies every day.
So much goodness…mmmmmm. I love ALL your entries!
Now I have an announcement! Every week of the July smoothie challenge Vega is generously giving away a Vega Energizing Smoothie Pouch to one of the participants and the winner for this week is Jenn from Run It My Way! Congrats girl! (If you want to be part of the weekly draw you just need to comment on the initial challenge post)
I also wanted to give a shoutout to Katherine from Green Thickies. She’s doing the smoothie challenge too and she has a fantastic site with LOADS of smoothie recipes! Her story is so awesome…she actually used smoothies as a tool to help her overcome chronic fatigue syndrome AND lose about 56 pounds! Talk about inspiring.
Over the last few days I’ve been trying some smoothie recipes I’ve been meaning to try. A few days ago I made Spirulina Hawaiian Dream Smoothie from Sketch-Free Eating. You need to check this one out – I really enjoyed it. I didn’t have any fresh pineapple so I used canned and used my Vega Energizing Smoothie (original) for protein. I just love the colour of smoothies when I use spirulina!
I love putting my Vega protein in my shakes!
On Saturday I made BerryHappyBodies healthy Reese’s Shake. I believe that peanut butter and chocolate are a marriage made in heaven so naturally I thought this shake was kind of amazing. I added some raw maca and used my NytroWhey chocolate whey protein to the mix for some extra superhero-ness.
I also wanted to mention that I just found out my friend Whitney from WhitLikesFit is having a challenge for July too. It’s all about drinking more water and all you have to do is tweet her a picture of your water with the hashtag #hydrateinjuly. I decided to join in on the fun too – always need more motivation to keep drinking good ole’ H20.
Oh, and I just started a Tumblr blog a few days ago – this site will have stuff this site won’t, such as articles and recipes I enjoyed and health/fitness photos from my life. If you’re on Tumblr I’d LOVE to follow you back!!
Hope you’re having a marvelous Monday! Don’t forget to drink a smoothie (and lots of water)!
Any smoothie recipes I need to try? (Feel free to share a link of one of your favourite smoothies below!)

YUM. Also, smurfette likes tequila in her smoothies.
Ahhh that’s so exciting, THANK YOU!! I’m having so much fun with the smoothie challenge, I find myself getting creative with my smoothies lately, which I probably wouldn’t have done if I wasn’t tweeting my smoothies every day for the challenge.
So excited to try the Vega protein powder, I’ve never tried it before but I’ve heard good things!!
Thanks so much for the “smoothie love.” It’s an honor to be featured on your site. I even posted about it today and sort of used your title, too (what can I say, it’s a good one) – http://rawdorable.blogspot.com/2012/07/more-smoothie-love.html
Congrats to Jenn. She’s gonna love her prize, and speaking of Vega, I gotta get one of those shirts.
All the other smoothies look so yummy. I want to make that PB one so bad.
Thanks for introducing me to Katherine’s blog. She’s a sweetheart and her baby is so sweet, too.
Smoothies are such an easy breakfast/snack/meal. I am in love with making my own smoothies. A family favorite!
Oh my!! The Reeses Smoothie sounds amazing!
I’m on a smoothie kick so this is perfect! I love the bright green color of your Vega smoothie. I’m a huge fan of their protein powders!
Thanks for the shout out :) Um that Reeses smoothie looks incredible.
I’m definitely on a green smoothie kick! I love seeing the rainbow of smoothie colors and those pictures are hilarious!!
I don’t drink smoothies but I totally have a craving for one now! :)

If only I could master tumblr, I’d be there right along with you. Sadly, I still haven’t figured out google+ and am barely functioning on Twitter…that’s not true: I can tweet, but I put myself to sleep doing it.
Great smoothie recipes. Those green ones are eye-catching!
Thanks so much for the mention. I drink so many smoothies that I couldn’t resist this challenge. I’ve been drinking them for a few years and have had my health turned around and lost 56 pounds initially, then again after I had my baby. Come over to http://www.greenthickies.com/recipes for loads of really filling smoothies that will keep you going until your next meal.
I have also just blogged about this challenge and all the smoothies I’ve made since it started. I also tried Charissa’s unusual Dandelion Smoothie. Come over and see what I thought of it: http://www.greenthickies.com/strawberry-orange-dandelion-smoothie/
My God…I don’t know which smoothie to choose to try first! lol
Oh wow Charissa, all of these sound amazing! I’ve been trying to incorporate more spirulina into my diet so I’m totally checking out that one! Thanks for all the ideas!
