Tips for Healthy Traveling (& review)
Happy Motivational Monday! I thought that since I just came back from a long trip, I should do a post on healthy traveling.
With a little self-motivation, living a healthy lifestyle away from home is not the hardest thing to do.
When I travel it’s usually to do with music/singing…so it’s vital that I don’t let myself get a cold. There’s nothing worse than doing a concert with a runny nose and a sore, raw throat. Here’s some tips:
Drink a LOT of water! It’s imperative.
(love my new water bottle!)
Eat lots of fruit – especially fruits that are high in Vitamin C (oranges, strawberries, kiwis)
Bring vitamin packets along – I love my Oxylent
Workout when you can – try this travel workout that only takes minutes! Literally, you can do this when you’re fueling up at the gas station! I’ve done this and yes, people stare…but they’re probably just wishing they had the nerve to do it too! (grin)
Pack along some handweights – I did this and even while you’re sitting in the passenger seat you can do bicep curls or lateral raises…hey, it’s something!
Use natural products – I’m a huge advocate for using pure products and it’s important to use them all the time. I want to give a review on my newest favourite travel products! NouriShea sent me this travel kit and I loooove it. It’s completely natural which means no artificial/synthetic fragrances, fake colours, parabens, and sulfates.
They smell beautiful without fake chemicals…the shampoo and conditioner are decadent. The shampoo doesn’t foam up too much (like most sulfate-free shampoos), but FYI…foam is not essential to clean hair. Their mango body wash was so lovely and left my skin feeling very soft and clean.
The lotions are very creamy, but don’t feel greasy…but sink into your skin instantly with a beautiful fruity scent.
My favourite thing was the lip balm…I put it on before bed and when I woke up in the morning my lips were still very moisturized. It lasted all night, which even Burt’s Bees does not do. (sorry BB, you know I still love you…)
Write down what you eat and any workouts – It’s one way to keep ourselves accountable. I try to always do this.
Hope you enjoyed these tips and my review of NouriShea’s products! Go check out their site and look around…I met the founder of NouriShea on Twitter and was really excited to try out the products.

Well, I got my husband’s cold over the weekend so too late for preventing sickness! LoL, but I have been looking for a drinkable vitamin packet so I’m so glad I stopped by this post! I can’t stand taking the pills. I will look for these! Thanks for the great travel tips!
