The Purple Vega Shake
I’m a huge Vega fan, so I was elated to try their newest product, Vega One. I kept seeing ads for it everywhere which kept making me want to try it.
Why I like Vega – it includes:
- 50% daily intake of vitamins and minerals
- 15 g protein
- 6 g fiber
- 1.5 g Omega-3
- Antioxidants
- Probiotics
- Greens
It’s also very natural. I understand every ingredient on the label, which is pretty important to me. Vega One is special because it’s not just a protein powder, but also a nutritional supplement.
I had so much fun trying Vega One out. I took it to the beach for volleyball, fueled up in the morning for breakfast, and tried it after my workout. It’s hard to tell after having it only a few times, but I felt like I recovered faster than I usually do.
Here’s a tasty breakfast for on the go:
The Purple Vega Smoothie
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1/2 cup organic blueberries, frozen
- 1 cup raw almond milk
- 1 tsp. organic flaxseed
- 1/2 banana, frozen
- 5 cubes ice
- 1-2 scoops Vega One (original)
- 2 handfuls organic spinach
Just blend the frozen fruit, flax, almond milk, spinach, and protein powder up and enjoy! I left the spinach out and just made a purple batch of smoothie. Then I left a little smoothie in the blender and loaded it up with spinach. All because I like layering smoothies…I think it’s so pretty!
Back to Vega One…here’s what I thought of the individual flavours:
Chocolate
It’s very chocolaty, which makes me extremely happy! I blended it up with just almond milk and ice for a refreshing treat. It has a slightly chalky taste, but hardly any. I really enjoyed this one and think it would fantastic blended with natural peanut butter and bananas!
Berry
I drank this just shook up with almond milk and it was good as is. However, when I got to the bottom of the shaker cup, it was really thick and made me shudder a little bit. I think this flavour I would enjoy in fruit flavoured shakes better (which I make all the time).
Vanilla Chai
Gotta save the best for last! I was so excited about this flavour…it sounded delicious. I blended it up with water, 1/2 frozen banana, and ice and drank it after a cardio workout. Dee-licous. In love with this flavour. Obviously, it’s not as versatile as the original flavour as far as making shakes, but I loved changing things up! This kind was my all time favourite!
I feel so good about using Vega because every ingredient is pure and healthy. There is no soy, no gluten, no dairy, no artificial flavours, no sugars, no colouring, or sweeteners. I love it SO much. Anyway, if you want to find out some other cool stuff about Vega One, check out this page about Vega One’s features and benefits.

yum! The vanilla chai sounds awesome :D
I’ve never layered – but that’s a fantastic (and pretty!) idea :) Knowing and understanding every ingredient is a huge deal for me too…
Vega is by far my favorite, I haven’t seen the Vanilla Chai yet, I must find it!
I’ve been looking for a new protein/nutritional supplement. There are so many out there that have such a horrible ingredient list. I like that Vega is full of stuff I can pronounce and know what it is. Others have recommended Vega so I think I’ll give it a try!
Healthy and a beautiful colour – what an exotic recipe :D
Cheers

I like to layer my smoothies sometimes, too. It’s like a smoothie parfait.
I’m a huge Vega fan. Vanilla Chai is my favorite flavor.
Love it. Might try it this weekend!
I have never tried Vega. I like that it is a very ‘natural’ protein.
I’ve never tried Vega, and I’ve never layered. Good thing I have your blog to read! LOL! xo
I love vega since I started using the product, I have grown to love it.
