I have always loved using natural products, but I have to say, you have got to find the right brands for a quality product. Yes, I’m overjoyed that this or that makeup is natural, but is it long wearing, good coverage, looks natural, and won’t drip off my face if I happen to sweat?

So I’m on a mission to find some good quality products. I’m determined to slowly replace all my makeup with natural versions as I run out of product.

Not too long ago, I was perusing one of our local health food stores and I noticed that they had a new brand of makeup in. Fascinated, I grabbed a pamphlet and left the store. Once home, I looked the company up online and was super interested. I contacted them and they were more than happy to spread the word about their company and sent me a Benecos Maxium Volume Mascara to try out! Not only that, they’re going to send one of you a tube of their mascara too!

I was super excited to try it and took photos of the before and after.

Please, please realize that this is in the morning and after a horrible, short night’s sleep. When I’m really tired my one eyelid droops. It’s kind of funky quirk of mine. Feel special you know about it.

I came to the conclusion I love this mascara! Like most mascaras, you can build on it by letting it dry in between coats. However, in the photos, it’s just one coat (nice, right?). For a more dramatic effect, don’t forget to curl your eyelashes beforehand! I love the deep black colour and the glossy look it gave my lashes. After it was dry, it didn’t flake like I’ve noticed some mascaras do. Additionally, although it wasn’t waterproof, it acted like it was. That’s a bonus for me. You know, just in case something moves me emotionally at some random moment.

There was only one thing I didn’t like about it…if you get any of the product in your eye it stings. Most of you don’t have a problem with this…I’m just a klutz. Minor problem. I’m really excited about trying more of their products in my quest to clean up my makeup bag! You need to check out Love True Naturals site and see all the amazing stuff they have!

    This is a great topic! I really don’t like wearing make-up because I’m still at an age where it only makes my breakouts worse so I generally just use eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow. I wanted a foundation that could keep my skin healthy without sacrificing coverage so the product I’m currently using is a natural mineral powder foundation. I can still see the occasional skin problem after using it but it works so much better than the heavy, gooey liquid foundations that used to cause me tons of problems! The brand is Une!

    Very pretty – the mascara looks great!! I should try to use more natural products, but as of right now the only natural products I really use are Burt’s Bees – some toner, face cream, and lip balm.

    I’ve been trying to switch to more natural products, too. It’s tough because I’m so used to the un-natural that have more staying power.

    I love the body shop makeup, which I believe tries to use natural ingredients, although their products are not all natural. They also don’t test on animals, which I’m happy to see that so many commenters are concerned about! I’ve never tried mascara before, EVER. Would love to try this, as I am impressed with how it looks on you!
