Fab Abs Workout (& smoothie)
Hope everyone had an awesome Valentines! I know I did…I spent most of my day studying and catching up on projects, doing a quick workout, making Valentine notes, and hanging out with my family for our special Valentines dinner. I don’t need to tell you that chocolate was involved. We often leave chocolate and love notes on everyone’s plates…even my niece contributed her special chocolate covered peanuts she had made herself! She’s such a sweetie and makes terrific chocolate.
But now it’s time to burn off that extra chocolate!
Here’s an ab/core workout that I did the other day. I did it at the end of a tough workout…so I did just one round for an extra core burn, but it’s better done 2 or 3 times.
It’s a quick ab workout, but it still leaves you feeling like you did something hardcore! If you’re more advanced in fitness, hold your plank for a minute each. If you’re good at pushups, do 10-20. I still find pushups really hard (the guy version), so I’m just adjusting myself gradually. I’m up to 10 in a row now…yay for me! Every day this month I’ve been increasing my pushups just a bit more each day…little changes are the most effective!
After doing your workout, you might just be interested in a healthy recovery smoothie!
Turns out I have some happy news! A few months ago I was contacted by SheKnows to see if I’d be interested in writing recipes for their sister site, Fab Foods. Of course, I was very interested and asked for more info. When all was said and done, I decided I couldn’t pass the opportunity up!
One of the reasons I was so excited to be a part of SheKnows, is the fact that, a few years ago, it was one of the websites that helped me achieve more balance in the food area of my life. I was too rigid and intense with what I was eating, when, what combination, how it was prepared, and I just wasn’t really balanced. SheKnows was part of the equation that helped me become excited about living a balanced life.
And now…I’m writing recipes for them! It’s really cool to be a part of that.
This recipe is one of the recipes featured on their site…an Avocado Smoothie! Add some protein powder and you have a great recovery smoothie. Or drink as is, for a delicious breakfast shake to start the day! So go check it out and let me know what you think! I’d love it if you could go like, tweet, or comment about it! That would totally make my day!
What’s your favourite ab exercise? Have you tried avocados in smoothies?

How cool! Congrats girl :D
I will have to try that workout for sure :) Thanks for sharing!
I like incline bench sit ups or bicycle crunches the best.
I haven’t tried avocado in a smoothie yet but sure will!
I LOVE putting avocados in my smoothies! It makes the texture nice and creamy and adds a little extra protein and healthy fats, I love that you paired it with a banana. Perfect! And that workout definitely looks intense. :)
I’m loving the workout and the smoothies, too. I checked out the post and left a comment :-)
Delicious Smoothies, avocados are simply heaven.
What an awesome smoothie! I need to go buy some avocados so I can make it!
I love smoothies. My favorite is made with Shakeology (see my blog).
