Shaky Leg Workout
Something I’ve wanted to focus on, here at Colourful Palate, is workout features and fitness routines. I decided that once the New Year rolled around, I’d start making that more of a priority with my site. Fitness is a big part of my life, especially now that I’m going into that field as a profession. So I’m excited about sharing some fun fitness stuff with you all!
I saw this funny flowchart on Pinterest and thought I’d share it with you! It’s always a good time to workout!
So I thought I’d share the exercises I did tonight. It’s a lower body workout focused mainly on legwork (hence the name). So grab your iPod, some 5lb weights, and complete this as many times as you need to get those legs shaking! (smile)
Seriously though, after I’ve finished an intense workout, sometimes my legs or arms will shake for a while. It just makes me smile, because I know I gave it all I had, and it really does feel “good”. (Yes, some of us fitness nuts have weird definitions of “feeling good”) Just be careful to maintain good form in all these exercises!
Note: Try to do all three sets without rest! For my second set, I did bicep curls with the lunge to target other arm muscles.
To make this workout a little harder and burn those arms, keep your arms up at a 90 degree angle when you’re doing the shoulder press (with the sumo squat). Don’t drop your arms below your shoulders for the whole sumo squat exercise.
Also, toe touches are done on lying on the floor, with your legs pencil-straight up. Crunch up to touch your toes (or as far as you can reach) with both arms extended.
This workout takes about 20-25 minutes and it’s intense! It really got my heart going! My legs were shaking (especially during the wall sits – HATE those!)

Blog Update:
In addition to adding a fitness section to this site, I also thought that this year I might add:
–Short Posts that feature: quick workouts, super-fast recipes, inspiration posts, ect
–FAQ page?
-A fitness feature that focuses on an exercise and how to do it with good form
-posts that highlight the foods I eat and workouts I do daily to keep healthy and fit
I have some other really cool ideas that I really hope to implement this fall, but for now I’m thinking of the ones above. What say you? Any other ideas, features, or posts you’d like to see here on Colourful Palate? Let me know! I’d love to hear your ideas!
…And if you try the workout, let me know how it went!

Hi! We started doing cross fit about 9 months ago and I’m ALWAYS shaky after workouts! It sucks. This looks really similar to what we are doing. I’m excited to check out your new Fitness Section! I also LOVE your fitness flow chart. I might pin it up in my office for motivation.
What a great at home workout. I am constantly looking for killer leg circuits, definitely going to try this one out! Thanks! Also, I highly recommend Pure Barre, it’s totally worth it. I have noticed marked changes in my thighs and booty :-)
