A Magical Christmas
I can’t believe Christmas is already over…but what a special day it was. Our Christmas was pretty small…my brother and his family came over, as well as my Grandparents. On New Year’s almost my entire family will be here, which will be so crazy fun!
We started the day off with delicious eggnog and homemade Christmas bread, our traditional breakfast!
Then once my brother’s family and my Grandparents arrived…we read from the Bible, talked about the Christmas story, and then… obviously, it was time for presents.
My niece could hardly wait. Actually I couldn’t either. We both just fidgeted until it was present time.
She is such a little drama queen…she knows how to get everyone to laugh!
This little girl and her brothers made Christmas extra special with their uncontained excitement and giggling!
Everyone had such fun watching them open their presents…
At our house, we all draw names for each other and that person gets an extra-special present. I drew my sister-in-love’s (that’s what we call our sister-in-laws round here…they’re just like sisters anyway!) name…and so I painted her a painting of a picture that she liked.
After gift opening, it was quite a mess…with gifts and wrapping and ribbons…absolutely everywhere.
But once cleanup was over, we all sat down to our Christmas dinner. My Mom is the most incredible cook ever. Period.
Little niece was quite excited about her party favor and wore her paper crown the whole meal.
Annie and I.
The rest of the evening, was spent playing games, eating as much chocolate as possible, lounging in the living room while chatting, and being blissfully lazy.
My niece did a puzzle with Great Grandma. She is so busy and always needs to be doing something…so cute.
All in all, it was such an amazing day celebrating God’s gift to us and the gift of each other. I am so blessed to be in the family that I am!
Oh, and for gifts…well, I just have to share some of my favourites!
- A pink jersey of my favourite hockey team
- Some new workout wear, gym bag, and a gift card to LuLuLemon (happy dance!)
- A purple travel Bible
I’m so excited about the next few days…we’re doing a family reno project together (I’ll let you know about it soon!) and of course, this weekend we’ll have lots more family over for New Years! The holidays just don’t stop around here!
How did you spend Christmas day? What was your top gift?

Looks like a great Christmas! :)
Looks like some wonderful family time!
Spending Christmas with your family is the best. Thanks for sharing your day with us. The kids are adorable. Love that you call your sister-in-law “sister-in-love.”
Sounds like you got some nice presents. My hubby went overboard with me this year. I think I got a whole new wardrobe. Can you believe this stay-at-home mommy ended up with 11 dresses (not all from him)? My favorite gift I opened was my Cri De Coeur boots, but the best gift of all was to spend time with my family :-)
What a gorgeous Christmas! All of the kids are so adorable. I love how magical Christmas time is for little ones. Seeing their excitement about everything makes the celebrating even more fun. :)
What a lovely way, to celebrate Christmas with your loved ones.
Happy New Year, dear :)
What a wonderful Christmas it must’ve been at your house! :)
