Vegan Peppermint Hot Chocolate {& giveaway}
*Giveaway is closed*
I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas! And I’m loving every minute of it! There’s just something about that word ‘Christmas’ that fills my heart with joy! To me, it speaks of special family time, sparkling snow outside my window, the fun of secrets as we buy gifts for each other, and the smells of delicious baking. However, there’s something so more much special to me than all those lovely things…and it’s the fact that God loved me (and you!) so much that He sent His son to earth to be our Savior…Emmanuel, God with Us! It’s such a beautiful message that somehow gets overlooked during the busy-ness of the season.
That is what makes Christmas so merry!
But, of course, a little hot chocolate helps too!
I made this yesterday evening and it’s just like a liquid dessert! The great thing about it is, thanks to NuNaturals, its sugar-free and low calorie! Sounds good to me! It’s best fresh! This serves 2.
Vegan Peppermint Hot Chocolate
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 2 peppermint tea bags
- 2 tbsp. pure cocoa
- 2 dropper-fulls of NuNaturals cocoa bean stevia*
- ½ packet NuNaturals stevia
*If you don’t have this just use a little more stevia
Heat the almond milk with the tea bags on the stove. Add the cocoa and stevia. Heat till it’s piping hot! Stir with a candy cane for even more of a peppermint essence! Mmmmm…
There’s just something about peppermint hot cocoa that is so much more delicious than regular hot chocolate!

thanks for the peppermint hot cocoa recipe. I’ve been missing hot cocoa ever since going vegan. I never thought to try using almond milk.
I’ve never used Stevia before and have to admit that I’d be really curious to give it a try. This would be the perfect opportunity, now, wouldn’t it ? ;)

Great recipe! I have to make this next week…peppermint tea is usually too strong for me, but what a great way to balance it!

This looks delicious! I agree that Christmas is the best time of the year! Accept the time of year when I’m sitting on a beach drinking something with an umbrella in it in the Caribbean!

[…] I love cold weather and nothing is more cozy than snuggling with a warm mug and good book. Bonus points if there’s a fireplace. Now about that mug… This time a year I stock up on holiday teas like gingerbread and candy cane (which I then hoard throughout the year), but I also can’t say no to cider, spiced wine, or a cup of hot cocoa. This season however I’m determined to get a little bit more creative and at the top of my To Do List is Peppermint Hot Chocolate. […]
